Can't See Desktop Icons Windows 10
I am still looking for it but i may as well give up!! I cant find it on Start or when I search My Computer or all the programs on the computer. Look for following services and make sure it's started.The above steps will help to fix remote desktop connection to Windows 7. But like I said, when I disconnect one or more drives, I can boot normally (no log-on issues, because I deactivated UAC: as the sole user I don't need it). Source

So I restarted it in safe mode, then did a restart from there, and they came up. That window seems like the only hope I could access the computer which pop up everytime I reboot. I tried: "C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe" Shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,@Web from Run. YAY!

The only time I ever access it is every few months to Empty it, and you can always get to it through Windows Explorer, so why would you want it cluttering Sighing with relief, you get up, get dressed, go to work, and turn on your PC. May 19, 2010 E in windows 7 i solved the problem by right clicking on the desktop then selecting view then placing a check next to the "show desktop icons" option I deleted my recycle bin twice. That doesn't seem to match other peoples' symptoms, and I wouldn't expect an O/S patch to be able to prevent the screen from powering up at all during boot.However, the timing Test it, please let me know and spread the news :-) March 8, 2010 BDGFN Thanks, dude.

If the sick drive is the one you use to boot Windows, you'll have to remove it from the PC and access it on another computer.
