Ethernet Connection Not Working
It will detect your ethernet and if you cannot get on the internet I would say you have a hardware problem. Use a lamb or mild source of light to inspect if any leads are bend or broken inside the port.(there must be 8 copper wire leads inside the port. There's likely a hardware switch on your PC for turning off Wi-Fi.And even if that doesn't solve your problem, it will make the tests below easier to run. by the way this is for windows 7, not sure how to do this with other versions of windows,step 3} right click your local area connection and click proporties step 4} Since you have tested the ethernet cable and other devices like a router / modem and observed as working, either its a driver issue, faulty windows config or failing network adapter.
